is organizing the 7th Bangkok Experimental Film Festival (BEFF7) on the 2nd and 3rd floors of One Bangkok Forum, a multi-purpose convention center and theater within the One Bangkok project in Bangkok.

One Bangkok Forum
BEFF7, themed "Nowhere Somewhere," invites audiences to explore issues of space, identity, and the nature of ever-changing existence. This edition of BEFF7 will present film screenings, installations, performances, experimental music performance, talks with artists, filmmakers, and actors, as well as workshops for the general public with details as follows:
Film Screenings
BEFF7 has curated an experimental film program featuring over 120 films from around the world, spanning 30 programs from various countries. Mary Pansanga, the curator of BEFF7, has worked alongside international guest curators, leading institutions, and prominent film distributors from abroad, as well as the Film Archive (Public Organization) and BEFF co-founders Gridthiya Gaweewong and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. These guest curators will also engage in discussions with the audience about the selected works during BEFF7.
Installations
BEFF7 will showcase contemporary installation art by both Thai and international artists in spaces such as COSMORAMA and DISSOLVING ROOM, as well as the main exhibition hall. A total of 10 installation pieces, curated by Mary Pansanga, will be displayed, inviting the audience to explore themes of space, identity, and the ever-changing nature of existence.
A Conversation with the Sun (VR)
A Conversation with the Sun (VR),by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, will be exhibited in Bangkok for the first time, with support from CHANEL. This work blends VR technology, performance, animation, and sound to invite viewers to explore the connections between memory, light, and existence. The immersive experience features creative sound design by Ryuichi Sakamoto and VR landscapes by Katsuya Taniguchi.
Performances
BEFF7 will feature live experimental performances by Thai filmmakers, supported by Bangkok University and New Narratives. Curated by Noth Thongsriphong, these performances will take place on January 26, 29-30, 31, and February 1-2, 2025.
Experimental Music
Night of the Dry Flowers, a live music performance by SO::ON Dry Flower, will present experimental music from both Thai and Asian artists. The performance will be held on the night of January 29, 2025.
Talks and Workshops
In addition to film screenings, BEFF7 will host panel discussions and workshops, including Artist/Filmmaker Talk: Dreams / Distortions / Disruptions, which offers audiences the opportunity to meet filmmakers and artists. The Last Thing You Saw That Felt Like a Movie, an Encounter, supported by CHANEL, will feature Apichatpong Weerasethakul in conversation with Tilda Swinton, moderated by Kong Rithdee. Additionally, there will be three workshop programs where participants can experiment with storytelling through observation and note-taking, creating sounds from everyday objects, and shooting films using 16mm film.
